August 9, 2019 – We kicked off this fiscal year’s first social event at the prestigious hotel management facility at Silver Mountain School of Hotel Management. It was a unique experience for our members dining and wining as we learned a great deal about food, hospitality and etiquette. We started at the wine lab where instructor Mr. Chandan Thapa (30 yrs. in the hospitality industry) enlightened the members on dining etiquette and wine. Few glasses of wine got everyone laughing and talking as we headed to the dining area for a scrumptious three course meal. Cutleries surrounded our seating area but that was the plan. As we enjoyed our meal, the instructor taught us the uses of all the spoons, forks, different plates and glasses that were in front of us. Once done, we were then escorted to the coffee lab – the aroma hit us instantly. Espresso, Americano, cappuccino; we tried them all as the bartender explained how they were made and the basic essence of drinking coffee. Overall, a delightful experience, definitely something none of us had tried before. The learning and the experience will remain with us.
